MOUNTAINS & MINDFULNESS
A day of movement and retreat for Black community — creating space to step away from the noise, quiet our minds, and practice presence.
Saturday, October 24th
Registration closes Saturday, October 17th.
Details below.
Why
Through movement, time in nature, guided reflection, journaling, and intentional periods of silence, we’ll create space for the kind of contemplation that can be difficult to access in the noise of everyday life.
Transportation
We will meet at Grand Central Station at 7:15am on the morning of the hike and take the Metro-North to Cold Spring. From there we will walk to the start of the Bull Hill/Washburn Trail.
Driving
For those who choose to drive and meet us at the trailhead, parking is available at the Washburn Trailhead parking lot on Route 9D, directly across from Little Stony Point.
Parking is limited and can fill quickly on weekends, so we strongly recommend arriving early or carpooling when possible. Additional parking is available at the Cold Spring Metro-North station.
Please park only in designated areas, as illegally parked vehicles may be ticketed or towed.
Start to End Time
Mountains & Mindfulness will begin promptly at 10am. With time set aside to enjoy the scenery, take pictures and have lunch, expect to leave Cold Spring no sooner than 3pm.
Be sure to RSVP below and confirm whether you will meet us at Grand Central Station or at the trailhead so that we know who we are waiting for.

Filled Water Bottle (essential)

Details About the Hiking Trail
The Bull Hill/Washburn Trail is a moderately challenging hike with a sustained uphill climb and approximately 1,300 feet of elevation gain. Expect rocky terrain, beautiful views, and a good workout!
The hike itself will take approximately 2.5–3 hours, and we'll set aside an additional 30–45 minutes at the top to rest, refuel, enjoy the views, and take part in a guided journaling and mindfulness experience.
Plan for approximately 3–4 hours on the trail.
