Why Invite Only?
Protecting the Vision. Honoring the Why.
We’ve chosen to make this gathering invite-only because it’s not just about fitness. It’s about trust. About energy. About building something rooted, restorative, and quietly revolutionary.
You won’t see this event in ads or hashtags. Instead, it lives in trusted spaces—shared from one person to another, and now with you. If you’re here, it’s because someone saw something in you and passed along the invitation. That means something.
We believe wellness for Black people should be culturally safe, spiritually nourishing, and emotionally freeing.
This space was dreamed up out of the overflow of something deeper:
A belief that we, Black people, are deeply, profoundly, and unconditionally loved by God. That we are worthy of good things. That healing, joy, softness, and power belong to us—not just in theory, but in practice.
We’re not here to convince anyone what to believe.
We’re simply saying: this was born from Love. And if someone you trust invited you here, it means you’re already part of the story.
This is how we move—together, protected, and on purpose.
Arriving at 402 Hooper Street
Your wellness experience begins the moment you arrive. Our venue, 402 Hooper Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, is a cozy, industrial-chic space designed for connection and ease.
Getting Here:
By Subway: Take the J/M train to Lorimer Street or the G train to Broadway. Both are about a 5-minute walk from the venue.
By Car:
Street parking in Williamsburg can be limited.
The nearest parking garages are typically 3–5 minutes away on foot, such as the garages near Broadway and Union Ave.
We recommend allowing an extra 10–15 minutes to find parking if you’re driving.
By Bike: Williamsburg is bike-friendly, and there are several secure racks within a block of the venue.
Meet the Team
Our space. Our vibe.
When we come together it’s more than just movement—it’s a rhythm that’s felt, that's in our dna - not taught. We come from different places—different countries, cities, and upbringings—but at the core, we share a pulse. The way we dance. The way we laugh. The way our energy fills a room. It’s a thread that ties us to our roots and to each other.
This space is a celebration of that.
On August 9th, each of these instructors is bringing their own unique gifts — rooted in skill, identity, joy, and intention. Whether through dance, strength, rhythm, or release, they’ll help you access something in yourself that’s been waiting to move.

How we will move together.
Throughout the day, you’ll get the chance to jump into three unique fitness and wellness experiences, crafted to make you move, connect, and feel part of something bigger.
Between each experience, there will be spacious moments to connect and commune with others in the room. These are intentional pauses—opportunities to meet, breathe, and enjoy the presence of community.
This flow is designed to feel natural, grounded, and energizing, giving you space to move your body, engage your mind, and nourish your spirit alongside others who are here for the same reason.
The Flow of the Day
Here’s how we’ll move together on August 9th.
10:00 a.m. — Doors Open + Connection
Step into the space, check in, and ease into the vibe. You'll be guided into a light connection activity—something simple to help you meet others, ground yourself, and settle into the energy of the room.
10:45 a.m. — Sound Meditation (45 minutes)
Lucia Mitchell will lead us through an immersive sound journey to quiet the noise and bring intention to the forefront. This is where we begin—moving the mind, so that the body can follow.
12:00 p.m. — Total Body Conditioning (45 minutes)
Breanna Cummings will kick off our movement of the body and guide a dynamic HIIT & Conditioning session designed to activate strength, energy, and rhythm. This experience will meet you where you are and elevate you from there.
1:15 p.m. — Soca Dance Experience (45 minutes)
Nicole Brathwaite (Ms. Nicole) will take us from moving our bodies to moving the culture as she leads a joyful Soca session—a cultural celebration through movement that will seamlessly kick off the day party vibes and mobility sessions of the afternoon.
2:00 p.m. — Day Party Vibes + Mobility Sessions
The afternoon opens up. Enjoy curated beats, The BLAQUE Movement merch, and light bites and art from our vendors and sponsors.
Mobility sessions will be available for The BLAQUE Movement:Elevated guests (VIP) and for those who purchase on-site or pre-book in advance. Guests who pre-book will be able to select a dedicated time slot.
4:00 p.m. — Event Close
All guests will depart by 4:00 p.m., leaving the space refreshed, connected, and moved.
